Terms of use
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Swapply when you create an account, list an app, or install the widget. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us before you agree.
1. The service
Swapply lets members show other members' apps to their users via an embeddable widget or link, and be shown in return, governed by a credit ledger. We review apps by hand before they enter the network. We may change, pause, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
2. Your account
- You must be 16 or older and able to enter a contract.
- One account per email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in email secure.
- You may list apps you own or are authorised to represent. Agencies may list client apps with the client's permission.
3. What you may list
Apps must be live, working, honestly described, and yours. We will reject or remove, at our discretion:
- anything deceptive, misleading, or that impersonates another product;
- adult content, gambling, weapons, or anything illegal where it is offered;
- cryptocurrency or financial schemes, "get rich" products, MLM;
- malware, scrapers used against third parties, or tools whose main purpose is to violate another service's terms;
- thin wrappers that add little over the underlying product;
- anything we would not be comfortable showing to our own users.
Review decisions are ours to make. If we are unsure we will usually email you first.
4. The widget and your users
- Install the widget only in products and emails you control. Do not hide it, stack multiple instances to inflate impressions, load it in iframes nobody sees, or trigger it with bots.
- Do not modify
widget.jsorconvert.js, or call our APIs other than through them. - You are responsible for telling your own users about third-party content in your product where your law requires it. Our privacy policy describes exactly what the widget does so you can.
- Keep the "via Swapply" link visible: don't hide, cover or restyle it away. It is how the network grows, which is how you get impressions.
5. Credits
- Credits belong to your account and are shared by all of your apps. Your account earns one credit each time one of your widgets shows another member's app to a counted visitor, and spends one each time one of your apps is shown. A counted click moves ten credits the same way: from the account whose app was clicked to the account whose widget sent the click. Only clicks from a card the visitor was shown count; automated traffic, link previews and email scanners do not. Starter credits are granted once per account, when its first app is approved. We may reverse credits earned through fake or automated traffic and suspend the accounts involved. Rules for counting (one view per visitor per widget per day, one click per visitor per app per day, daily caps, category matching, block lists) are described on our site and may be tuned to keep the network fair; we will announce material changes.
- Starter credits are a one-time gift per account. Earned credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold.
- Purchased credits never expire while your account is active. You may request a refund of unused purchased credits within 14 days of purchase.
- If we remove an app or account for breaching these terms, credits earned through it may be forfeited. If we close the service, we will refund unused purchased credits pro rata.
- We may reverse credits earned through fraud, bots, hidden widgets, or other manipulation, and may remove the account.
6. Payments
Credit packs are sold as one-off purchases processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and may include VAT depending on your location. Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself.
7. Content and IP
You keep all rights to your app, name, logo and copy. You grant us a licence to display them in widgets, the directory, and our marketing of the network, for as long as your app is listed. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence. Swapply's name, logo, code and site are ours.
8. What we promise, and what we don't
We will run the service with reasonable care, keep the ledger honest, and tell you about material changes. We do not promise any particular number of impressions, clicks, or signups. That depends on how many members are in your category and how good your pitch is. The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending things
You can delete your apps or ask us to delete your account at any time; your widget simply stops rendering. We can suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical. Sections 7–10 survive termination.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts, without affecting consumer rights you have where you live. Questions: contact@swapply.app.
